Meeting the objectives embodied within Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is an admirable aspiration, making it a reality, however requires a number of practical priorities that must be achieved.

Role of Diversity and Inclusion

Creating Diversity and Inclusion in the future will demand capacities and developing capabilities that until now have just been options.

We live in a time of rapid and vast changes (Climate, global, economic, demographic and technological) all of these elements are having an effect on the people within our communities.

Equality and Diversity theory suggests that it is not possible for some people to thrive and prosper whilst others are facing so many inequalities.  We need to be able to cultivate our capabilities and capacities to get the most out of everyone; this is particularly pertinent in education.  A route that contributes greatly to this is through engaging with Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, thereby making the practices mainstream and not bolted onto projects, policies and procedures.

There is already much activity and resources going into meeting the necessary legislation for Equality objectives, but they are not always consistent, coordinated or communicated effectively. There is much duplication, and some confusion; our research has shown that people do not know what to do or indeed how to do it.

In our work over the past decade we have come to the conclusion that there are vital gaps in Equality. Diversity and Inclusion provision and in order to make the aspirations of the Equality schemes a reality these gaps need to be filled.

It is our objective to: -

  1. Inspire, motivate and encourage the development of everyone we work with.
  2. Provide a quality and efficient service that meets needs at an affordable price.
  3. Provide the stimulus and environment to promote personal achievement and growth for people
  4. Increase the profile of equality and diversity issues focusing on the business case.
